Work on PaperWorking on paper is quicker than working on canvas. The image appears and 'matures' with more immediacy. I like alternating between work on paper and canvas in order to stay nimble. The materials are much the same in both: acrylic paint, charcoal, graphite, colored pencil, and more. Often I also apply small squares cut from larger ink gestural pieces. When arranged in rows they read to me almost as musical notes. |
